It seems like a lot of times when I talk about my problems or try to face them...my anger surfaces...I feel more angry, I get a headache...and in general feel worse.

I'm just wondering what this means? Maybe it means that I obviously have a lot to work on and a lot of things I still need to deal with. But I've been in therapy for 5 years! Why do I still have so much anger????

You might have reason. I am just strating to get over a lot of very intense anger that I have been carrying around, and it has taken YEAARS to vent. And yep, the tension causes some nasty headaches. Anger is the system that lets you know your boundaries have been violated. maybe what you need to to do is instead of focus on the violation, say, OK, they have been, now what? What do I do? will what I do make a difference? Is there a So what factor? do I move on? how will this help me live my life? Like fear, it can be an alarm system that has just started to go off when the purpose for going off is no longer relavant. HUGGGGSSSSSS!
Thanks for this!

thanks that really helps longeal. I think you might be on to something. My boundaries have definitely been violated several times in the past, now I need to figure out how to deal with that and how to move forward and protect those boundaries.

I've been trying to deal with my anger recently too, it's tough.

How do you learn to deal with all that anger from things in the past? I'm in therapy...but I feel like that anger is still majorly there. maybe i should talk to my T about it?

Anger is definitely something to bring to your T. It takes time to deal with anger from the past. I think some of it is accepting it, being ok with the feeling and going through it again so that you can move on. That was it for me, it may be different for you, and your T probably has more ideas =)
