Hi guys- I posted a few weeks about waiting to hear if I got another position in my company. (It wouldn't be a promotion, basically a lateral move. Some may even think it's a step down. I think it's just using my degree in a different way.)
I'm so stressed out b/c I still haven't heard if I got the job, I interviewed a month ago. There was alot of stress added-I won't bore you hear, but I wrote about in my other post. I hate not knowing what will happen, and I keep thinking 'Is this (all the drama/stress) a red flag and fate trying to tell me that this position isn't right for me?' Now, I'm starting to get annoyed because when I do talk to HR they seem to have no idea what's going on as well, or I have to wait for them to call me back b/c at one point HR thought the manager offered me the job and just didn't tell them. I'm so confused and stressed about this. I feel like there's this 'blackness' hanging over me everytime I walk into work.
I think I would like this new position, and it would be a good change for me (it would be less physically demanding but more emotionally demanding.) I think I could be very good at it, and I want to go back to school for concentration of this new position. I'm so annoyed.
Sorry, just needed to write this out. I'm gonna talk to T about this today too, thank god, I got a session schedule for this week.

Hi! Mmm... it doesn't sound good does it, the fact that they haven't let you know either way is really bad on their part. It does make me think that they don't want you because surely they would have let you know as soon as possible. You do need to know where you stand. Can you ring the person that interviewed you directly and be assertive in asking whether you have been offered the job or not!

I did call HR again today....to find out that all of a sudden the new manager decided they want someone with experience. (This was never brought up in my interview or was there any negative feedback with me not having direct experience related to the position. I have more then enough experience in the field in a general sence. ) I'm upset b/c they have made it potentionally uncomfortable with my manager because the new manager blabbed to my boss about me interviewing;this was without my knowledge and after I specifically said I had not mentioned the interview to my boss. My current manager thought I had the position two weeks ago. That's why I was so confused.
In the long run, I guess it's better for me I didn't get it-with all the stress it has cause me and I don't want to work for peopel who change their minds and string people along. Oh well.

and the new department acted like they were totally interested in me during the interview....the manager talked to me like I already had the job....and talked to my manager (without my knowledge) and that he just needed to do one other interview bc someone else had applied and he was still obligated to interview them for an internal transfer. HR thought 2 weeks ago that I had the job, they just needed to make sure I could be offered it 'offically.' This whole thing was alot more added stress then I needed.

SIGH
I'm glad you have resolution although it's not the way you wanted it to go. They didn't handle it well in my opinion -- I've seen that happen way too many times in the corporate world.
Sorry my friend, but at least the waiting is over and you can move on.
Thanks for this!

I've had similar experiences at work - I think some of it is the corporate world - pretty much being guaranteed a new position only to find out at the last minute that it was given to someone else. It's definitely disappointing! Don't stop pursuing other options because of this setback. I did and later regretted the missed opportunity.

Sorry you had to go through this!

Right now, I am trying to look at it has 'things happen for a reason' and this is a blessing in disguise. I do like my current job-it's just very physically demanding/stressful at times, but I have had the opportunity to have flexibility with my schedule.

Thanks for the support, guys!
