i can't stop getting angry when im asked question by a doctor or a social worker. i'm goin to start therapy soon but i gt 2 angry when i get upset. i no i use anger because im 2 afraid to tlk about my depression.

I always get angry with doctors because it feels like they don't listen properly to what im saying.

I went for an assesment and when i was telling the woman bout my past she said i was disociating myself from what happened. i felt really angry after this because it was really hard for me to say what i did.

i feel like if you dont break down in front of them there not happy. it was the first time i actually opened up and she completely knocked me back for it.

I no ive to try and stop getting angry over things but some times i think why shouldnt people get angry. i was teriffied of telling the truth and i did to the councillor. i just felt so angry over docs/councillors saying things like that!!

Depression is anger turned inward. Perhaps you can write what you are angry about and when and what would need to be different for you to feel allright and not angry and so you will have something that's perhaps easier to grasp.
Thanks for this!

Hi ~ I can understand why you get angry with doctors/counselors. All too often they DON'T listen to us. For instance, I told my doctor what was wrong, and 30 seconds later he wants to know how I feel!!! So I said "I just TOLD you!!!" After that, he seemed to really listen to what I was saying .

Unfortunately sometimes we have to REMIND them to listen -- I'm sure they have alot on their minds, with seeing many patients. BUT -- they need to stick to the issue at hand !!

Friends can do this at times too -- they don't really listen. But then I figured out that these "friends" just seemed to like the sound of their own voice. Needless to say, I don't hang with them anymore.

A certain amount of anger isn't bad -- as long as it results in something constructive. God bless & take care. Hugs, Lee

i have had anger too. it's a natural emotion which stems from the primary emotion FEAR. i've learned to think through the anger and strive to channel it constructively. making a list of why i feel angry helps me identify what's causing the anger. pausing before i explode, taking a deep breath helps too before i react.
here's a helpful link, disregard the post traumatic stuff and look for the steps for coping skills.

hope this helps.

Hello, danii24. Please consider printing a copy of your posts for your therapist. You likely would benefit from talking about it so your therapist knows what is going on and may act accordingly.

Good luck.
Thanks for this!
