Silence is the secret to sanity. ~Astrid Alauda
So I found this quote and I was wondering what everyone thought about. I personally am a very silent person, I was dubbed selective mute in English class, and I find while this is true, too much silence can hurt oneself mentally, socially etc. How much silence is a good thing? Obviously never speaking to anyone probably isn't the best but talking to much is also not great. Do you think a quiet person can learn to speak up and vice versa? Also do you think silence is a good way for people to deal with their emotions? Thoughts? |

Silence is the secret to sanity. HMMM, that could mean that if you have nothing nice to say be silent. That could mean that when you want to take a quiet nap it would be nice if it was in silent surroundings. It could mean that complaining person would be easier to deal with if they just kept silent. Or when everyone is talking no one can really be heard and someone yells, silent please, then people stop talking and enjoy the quiet conversations one by one.
Silence could mean that someone is kept so busy and productive and happy that they are silently working away. When someone sees something bad happen and remains silent, that isn't good. When you go outside in the winter and there is nothing but silence, it can be nice and peaceful. And there is such a thing as a silents night sleep, that sounds refreshing doesn't it? If people were silent there would be many empty forums on PC and then many people would suffer in silence. Silence has it's moments but all silence is not healthy. Open Eyes |

"Silent mind" I dont think that is possible, the mind is always processing wether we like it or not. But it is nice to have silence around you when you are trying to process at times isn't it?
