Its frustrating! I'm not doing anything wrong, but God doesn't acknowledge it. Eventually he'll have mercy and life will be fair. Thats my prediction. Do you ever see that life isn't fair. Its weird, I have evidence that life isn't fair. And its maddening. Like how I feel how i can be kicked out of my church, just because i dont try to do good really hard. Maybe its just anxiety, but it seems real. See ya

Life isn't fair, never was and never will be. But yet life has rewarding moments that make it all worth it. Hope you have some positive moments soon.

I often struggle with this concept.

While my parents always acknowledged that truth, for as long as I can recall, I've never been able to accept that fact.

Yes, Yoda made a good point. There are some wonderful moments in life that don't deserve to be forgotten about, or nudged aside. We should treasure our positives as much as we dislike our negatives. Something to work towards in life, I suppose.

Hello, RunningEagleRuns. The Serenity Prayer has helped many:
The Serenity Prayer Life is not fair
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

No life is just life, nothing more or less - although I often think of it as an endurance test.

Nope it is not. I have never posted any thing before-not sure how to start a new thread but my husband is yelling at me to do it and get help or he is leaving. Life sucks.

"Life is unfair" is certainly one of the possible opinions on life and on this particular event. Another equally valid opinion could be "life is fair", and the one I prefer a simple "life is".

"Life is unfair" in this case comes from a sense of entitlement. Feeling that the particular congregation should have recognized and appreciated your contribution. Well, they did not. That is truth. Did it hurt your ego? Why should it? You just did not fit with them, and they recognized that. They wanted you to do, do, do, little busybodies them, work, work, work. Do you want to have your life and in particular your spiritual life reduced to that?

Perhaps you can see, in this instance, that "life is fair" because not being part of their assembly you may now feel encouraged to seek a different group, a group with which you will feel more at home.

And you never know, perhaps also "life is fair", because have you stayed, you might have been on a bus one day, going to some retreat or entertainment function, and maybe a tire blew up and maybe you would have ended in a hospital, injured, and at this time such a turn would not have served your growth and evolution of spirit. Why argue with your guardian angel?

"Life is" attitude, however, is the most empowering one of those three. You simply realize that that no amount of your suffering over it, will undo a smallest thing that happened, will not make a tiniest spec of dust that was tossed certain way, become un-tossed. Taking that position you do not presume to know better, you avoid becoming entangled in purposeless conflict with what happened and you are most free to go on with your life, free of obligation to stand there arguing how unfair they were, how unfair life was, e.t.c. and because you are not so entangled you are most free to take the next step that servest your highest good.
