I've been going through a depressive phase for a while now. Last Wednesday I went to our church's prayer meeting and cried all the way through it. Nobody asked me why I was crying, but they did a lot of praying for me, patting my shoulder, squeezing my hand, etc. Toward the end of the meeting, several individuals from my Sunday School class gathered around me and said a special prayer for me. It kind of makes me feel bad, but the deacon who teaches my class cried with me, just out of sympathy.
I appreciate every single part of this. Even not asking me why I was crying (which I could not have answered simply, anyway) was respecting my privacy, and they showed me how much they cared by their actions and their sympathy. It did a lot more for me than if someone had insisted on knowing what was wrong so they could either "fix it" or try to reason me out of my emotions. There have been problems between that church and myself before, but now I feel like I'm home. I'm going to be staying there for quite some time. ![]() |

please never feel that your a burden, and know that crying is part of healing too.
"Come to Me, all you who are worry and burdened, and i will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for i am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 i pray that you continue your journey of healing, your spiritual walk will grow, and you find peace. AMEN (((hugs))) |
