anyone else ever find themself in a "preverbal" state of mind? with no words for what's happening ? for one who is so very verbal, it is quite unnerving, and difficult to describe, even now. what happens next ? Gus

Hi Gus ~ I'm sure ALL of us experience that at one time or another. Not all of us can be great conversationalists. And sometimes there just isn't ANYTHING you can say. Sometimes silence is appropriate.

What happens next?? Why don't you tell me? LOL. I don't have a clue. Hugs, Lee

Followed a few links to get to this post and I am glad I did - I am sure this is what I experience - I told my T last week that is feels like there is an important meeting going on in my head behind a huge thick oak door and although I am not party to that meeting, it feels like something important is happening - I just don't know exactly whay it is yet.

I experience this quite frequently and it is quite disconcerting. It happens most often when I get triggered with childhood abuse issues in therapy. I tell my T it is though I know things and I feel things but don't have any words to describe what they are. It leaves me feeling very confused because it is so hard at those times to know what is real. It's like I know without knowing. Does that make sense?

I have experianced this several times. Feeling so intense you cant find any words to describe it. Like my communication just froze up and I couldnt speak.
