I still think about him everyday.....It's been over 2 years now, and nothing has changed .....My feelings are as deep now as they were then......My life is going really well, but this one issue I can't seem to overcome....( transference with my ex t ) ...... Why is it that my heart will not let him go???? Its driving me crazy..... I wish that this would just end.....

Im sorry you are struggling with this issue of letting go of your ex T

maybe writing a letter to him , just to get out your feelings would be good, do you think? maybe not actually giving it to him ( or maybe giving it, your preference) but just to be able to express those feelings would be helpful to you.

hugs and hope you feel better soon
Thanks for this!

I like SuperWoman's idea of writing a letter to your ex-T, just to let those emotions out. Allow yourself to say whatever you're holding inside ~ get it on paper. Perhaps that will help you work through the pain that you're feeling.

Was your therapy with your ex-T suddenly stopped? Just curious if you and your T discussed the end of T and went through closure emotions at all. If not, well, then your emotions make perfect sense to me. And maybe what you have written down needs to be shared with your new T. I'm not sure that sharing your thoughts and feelings with your ex-T would be helpful to you. I'd fear the emotions becoming more intense and a larger part of your life...which would be taking a couple of steps back.

Hope that the writing provides you with the closure you need. Best wishes to you!
