I want to thank Leed, Eskie Lover, and others who offered support in recent weeks.
Mom died on July 9. I was able to be with her day and night for the last 2.5 days, at the nursing home. She was very ill from the COPD, which also had caused dementia. I miss her a lot. The first time I walked into a supermarket soon after she passed away, I thought, "I can't do this. I don't know how to live without her in my life." We didn't always have a smooth relationship. She could be negative, self-centered, and manipulative. But she was always there for me. We all have our faults, and I have mine.

Oh sweetie I know -- when my Mom died I felt the same way.
![]() I know you miss her. Since I've lost both parents, I feel like an orphan. Can you believe that at MY age?? ![]() You are NEVER too old to need your parents. I know you need your MOM. You will think of a million things you want to ask her or tell her. You will go to the phone to call her, and then remember she's not there. I can't think of the number of times I've done that. Mom has been gone for 9 years now, and I STILL have things I want to tell & ask her. It just never stops. Thankfully the pain DOES ease, sweetie. I know it's pretty bad right now. You're still mourning -- but it will ease, and the good memories will replace the pain. Just know that you're in my prayers. ![]() ![]() |

Thank you, Leed. You perfectly expressed exactly how I feel right now down to the last comma.
