I can feel it sucking me back into the depth of all darkness. I'm fighting to get out but sometimes that darkness is comfort. I don't want to go back. I don't want to get stuck but that darkness can be a numbing antidote to the pain. Depression has a grip on me but I'm fighting to get out. I cant be there for too long. I'll lose myself.

Hi Jennifer ~ It sounds like it's time to call a good therapist before you DO get sucked into the pits of hell. Depression is a horrible illness and suffering with it too long makes it hard to get out of it--- it seems once you get into the tunnel of darkness, you end up staying there much too long and it's hard to get out without someone dragging you out.

Call a therapist now before you get stuck in there. Yes, therapist can be painful in the beginning because we have to dig into areas that are painful for us to remember, but it's well worth it just to get rid of it for good! So give someone a call and set up an appointment -- you won't regret it. I wish you the very best. Please keep us informed on your progress, ok? We DO care! God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee

I was in the pits of hell depression for 2 1/2 years and I too am scared to go back, but I am BP1 and am manic oriented so hopefully I can just stay up and manic for the rest of my life again. I went 53 years without ever having to face a hard depression like that one. My manic episodes can also be scary but in a different way. Hang in there.

I agree. Call for help as soon as you can. Don't wait, or it'll take forever to get out, trust me I know.
Good luck! You can get out, just reach out and take someone's hand.
