i just replied and subscribed to a nice thread about loneliness, if you'd like to see http://forums.psychcentral.com/showthread.php?t=247566

mostly i am by myself and i just try to make time go by, i keep myself watching series as those take time and can get your mind out of itself for a while. i wanted to get back to reading but i've been having trouble to concentrate, even to watch things (not even on tv as mine only has 4 open channels but online), but i won't give up the idea, so try to do some reading yourself too it may help. and going out, even if to do nothing, walks may be very good, get yourself something nice to drink or eat, think for the moment you see? that's what i try to do

No one is against you, they'd have to care about you first. Focus less on pitying yourself and try to work out what you're interested in, then pursue it.

I am 65yo. no family or childern and never married. The modern world is made in such a way that makes one lonely. One can sit in a crowded bus and we all sit there ignoring each other. See what mean?

Emotional maturity is the capacity to be alone. I am well adapted to being alone. Some tell me it shows. Dont hate yourself for this. Sometimes it is not your fault. Like yourself and it will be easier to like others.

I find little differnce detween sitting in a crowded theater and sitting in the desert alone. At least in the desert the birds keep me company and notice me.

Surround yourself with your favorite things. Books, Photos, Movies, start a hobby that you really enjoy or get a pet to help keep you company. Sometimes you need to step outside the little box you have created for yourself. Go for a walk or to a park. There are a lot of things to do if you just think about what you like.

Do something constructive for yourself, and then if you are able, try to help another. I am struggling with similar feelings, and it always seems to, at least temporarily, help me if I clean my room, or something of that nature.
