i used to listen to a woman who was always talking about her 'feelings and emotions'. i found this very confusing and always wondered what the difference between the 2 was. and because i could never work it out i naturally thought that these 'things' were beyond my understanding and therefore beyond my control.

i have come to understand that emotion is a word that i give to animation and movement. the word has a root in the french emouvoir (interesting article on wiki) it is the energy which drives me through this life. that energy can be destructive or productive, but all the same i associated with drive and therefore belief.

my emotional nature is informed by what i believe. if my emotional nature is painful and chaotic then there is usually something that i believe that is causing the conflict. it is here that i try to look for clues.

thankfully i dont get the great upheavals that i used to get. but life and the journey still go on. decisions have to be made, letting go done. i accept it more these days as the price of living in peace with myself.
Thanks for this!
