I can be with someone or on the phone and they pressure me and it's like they're so deep in what they want and a "yah-yah" world, I lose it. It don't mean to. It's like the straw that broke the camel's back. It's so fast, I can't stop. There's no time to even back off. I feel attacked and manipulated and can't take it. I need them to just back off for a minute so we can start over or I can get out of there. They don't, and I'm in trouble! There's no time to think; they are so deep in themselves they won't stop, and don't care anyway. The last time I asked the woman to change the subject over 15 times before I screamed. I don't think she even heard me until I screamed. But because I screamed, I'm the bad person. How do you slow down. How do you get people to stop?

Well, I would suggest that the person slow down--or, as you say, tell them you are needing to change the subject. If it starts getting overwhelming, then just tell them it is and you will need to hang up if they don't stop. You shouldn't have to tell someone to stop fifteen times!
