I'm not sure if this is THE best place to put this but I'm definitely feeling emotional about it.

I have been going through a lot lately and I am getting used to being back on Lithium for my Bipolar Disorder but today for the first time in a while I took a nap and had a horrible dream that I had trouble waking up from.

I don't have nightmares or daytime nightmares often but these are different. It's like I realize it's a dream and try to wake up only to find I am unable to. I can't open my eyes and I strain to try and speak but nothing comes out. I am paralyzed. When I woke up from this one my eyes were completely bloodshot. My eyes are never bloodshot. So it's strange..

I'm no good at dream interpretation but in mine I was in some sort of school setting and I was getting tricked into a maze where in every room there was some sort of creature. A creature that looked like a human, but more like...demon. They wouldn't move till i got close, then they would try and catch me and scream. Some looked like little children even , singing rhymes and chanting, only to be weilding knives or razors or hatchets. One creature actually ripped a chunk out of my stomach and was chewing on it, laughing at me while I ran.

I don't know what to make of any of this. It seems unusual to have them during the daytime. I wasn't upset when I went to sleep...

Any ideas what it means or what could be causing it?

Tell your doctor and see if you can get him to change medications for you. This seems like medication side effects to me.

This is not the first time this has happened to me. It just seemed really disturbing this time.
I hate to ask to be changed on meds because I've been through the whole experimental thing and Lithium was the last resort that actually worked before. I will talk to him about it though and see what he thinks.
Thank you for replying.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
