Ok. My parents are making me live in the livingroom of their house, because I was "acting out" in an apartment of my own and making a fool out of myself. They are really being unfair. They think I should live at home for the rest of my life. I think I should go out and live on my own. What they think and what I think are two completely different things. They don't even care what I think. Do you think they are being "over-protective"? What should I do?

All of this I am thinking is probably ridiculous and that is probably why they are not believing me now. And all those years ago that I have lied to them for other "small stuff".

You don't say how old you are? That would make a big difference. And can you support yourself in an apartment are or your parents footing the bill. If they are footing the bill then you are at their control and you need to abide by their rules.

I am 39 almost 40--will be 40 in January. I have to listen and follow the rules even though a person is 39.
