My understanding of alexithymia is the inability to describe or express emotions or feelings, in a verbal manner.
I am sure my b/f is an alex but suspect I might be one also. Can someone please give me an example in writing of how to describe emotions or feelings like "love", "anger", "happiness", etc., (as if I were saying the words). I do experience those feelings and emotions but I'm not sure how I would actually verbalize them to anyone, if they asked. Thank you for any comments. |

Easy, simply OWN them: "I feel angry at what you
just said," or I love the way you -----" or " I'm so happy you feel that way" etc.,etc. |

Love:
"I love you" Anger Normal: "F*** you!" "Get out of my way you son of a b****!" "I hate you" Healthy Anger: "It really upset me that you..." "I really don't like it when..." "I'm really angry that you would do that." Happiness: "This is awesome" "I'm happy" "I love it!" (also talking about anything while smiling conveys happiness in my mind.) |

This is a good place to find words that explain how you feel and communicate in a verbal matter. H.
