I am doing my best to cope but i am still afraid when i have to leave my house. I am afraid of being harmed and the medication does not help that. Maybe therapy might help. I get so anxious when i am out that most times i have a panic attack. I hope that with help and time this will become better but i don't know. I leave the house only once or twice a week and even then i am afraid. Can anyone here relate to what i am going through? Please let me know.

Hi hellokitty, things sound like they're really hard for you right now. But this: "I am doing my best to cope" just hang onto that thought!! That in itself is great!!!
And considering how hard it is for you when you're out and you're still pushing that to still get out- doesn't matter if it's only once or twice a week!!- that is a massive achievement!! It does sound like you need a little more help with what's going on for you though. It's definitely not the kind of thing you want to be on your own in dealing with. Perhaps your medication needs readjusting or changing?? Medication often isn't a "one size fits all" and it can take time/experimentation to find the right medication that can really help. But therapy is a really good idea too, it can help a lot of people if they find the right therapist. Maybe you could talk to your pdoc about it and they could give you some suggestions? Of course throw as much at it as you can yourself as well, with online advise on coping with/managing panic attacks. And you're going to find some really helpful/understanding people on here too who can give you some help either on your threads or by reading some of the threads on here. But keep on talking, keep on sharing and Welcome to PC!!! Alison |
