I have to go to the doctor today for a change in my blood thinner. It entails them teaching me how to give myself shots for a week or so. I'm terrified of needles. Been known to pass out during blood tests. So I need help to ride with me and keep my emotions from over coming me. It's the first time I've wanted to SI in years and can't because of the blood thinners. I'm terrified.

Sorry wish I could say I'm the same way but not. Just relax and mentally prepare urself. If u have to give urself shots, try and desensitize urself to seeing them. Look at them in different setting throughout the day, do this when u don't need a shot or ull only relate them to the task.

U r better than ur fear and anxiety. U are stronger and exist in this plane were u have the power and control.

I hated needles growing up but then I only could relate to hospitals and intense pain with no control. Now I'm older I got inked and a few piercings. Now shots and blood draws are nothing.
Thanks for this!

Perhaps it won't be so bad as you will be the one in control of the needle? I hope it goes ok..

Well my visit to the doctor was a waste of time. They have to call in the prescrition and me bring it back to give me lessons. After I had my husband drive all the way to meet me. The prescription won't be ready for another couple of hours. He went home since we live a hour from the doctor's office. They gave me some paper instructions. My stomach is upset and I have to work the rest of the day, but start the shots today. Very distressed.

Thanks for all that went with me. I appreciate it.

Dear Gayleggg. Of course your tum is upset, it's not a nice things that you have to learn to do. Although I'm not worried about needles and can make myself to relax when I have to have blood teats (don't like them), doing SI would make me feel very uncomfortable and nervous. With that in mind I can well imagine how you are feeling. I'm not gonna say don't worry it'll be OK because you ARE more than concerned. Just know that we are with you, and we look forward to hearing from you when you actually come back and say you've DONE IT. I KNOW you can, it's now you need to find your own way forward and how best to deal with it. HUGS and lots of LOVES, as ever. XXXXXXXXXX
