I was verbally and emotionally abused as a child. I don't think I dwell on it, I realize it colors alot of my habits and patterns today and I am working to over come that. I have never thought much about triggers. I like horror movies and awful child abuse or true crime books. I have always devoured such books and quickly moved on the next. Of course I read other stuff too. I have been reading a book on child abuse and right now I feel so anxious and uncomfortable like I am about jump out of my own skin. Maybe its cause I will be starting my menstrual soon I am not really sure. But why would I suddenly start having issues with triggers ?

You are connecting to the content of the book, that is why you feel the way you do.

Perhaps your unconscious mind is telling you something. May be good to be still and know what it is saying to you.
