Does anyone know if support groups are a good form of treatment for bipolar, coping, and depression? Someone with experience.

I have found that support groups help a lot, especially if they have a counselor leading them, so that, they stay on track.

I think it all depends on the program and who is leading it. I've had great and not so hreat experiences with group therapy, so I say go for it, give it a try.
What has made my experiences best with group therapy are the people in the group; it feels wonderful to know and talk to others about similar issues and worries. Sent from my SGH-T999L using Tapatalk |

I am also curious about this question. My fears about support groups come from wanting to be anonymous. I would like to check out an Al-Anon group, but my alcoholic parent is well-known in my small city. I find that it is hard enough for me to be open with my friends - doing it with strangers seems like it would be even harder.
