I have a weird problem relating to my temper. Outside at school or when im with my friends or even visiting relatives im an completely calm person. Absolutely nothing phases me. I tend to ignore people if they are being rude to me and try to hold in my frustration and avoid confrontation and i am a friendly person.
However when im at home its like im a completely different person. The smallest thing frustrates me and makes me extremely angry. For example i would totally lose my marbles over something simple like the TV being too loud or family members talking loudly. I dont get angry to the point where i want to hurt physically hurt someone but compared to when im outside its like i become crazy. Is there any reason why i would behave so differently. |

My T says that my emotions come out sideways. Like in your case, the family member talking loudly would annoy me, so I'd go to my room and be all angry. But really, I have unresolved emotions (likely not even specifically related to that member, just the environment) that are buried deep and make their presence known through "non-specific anger". Does that sound remotely possible to anything that you could relate to?

growing up I felt like I was living 2 separate lives. A home life where I was miserable, and a social life where I was accepted. I was often referred to as being 'manic' bc I was always in such a good mood and happy. While at home I got outraged by everything. Now as an adult and living outside the environment, I can understand why. I hope things get better for you
