I am not really sure where this goes, but I am having a bad day.

1. My basement got a little flooded last night. Not enough to ruin my furnace, thankfully, but enough to soak the entire floor. This has never happened in the ten years I've lived here.

2. Due to the basement flooding, I've spent most of today cleaning it out, or trying to -- but it is full of my boyfriend's junk. I'm starting to get really angry about the way he has taken over the basement but whenever I suggest cleaning it, he focuses on the two pieces of furniture I am storing down there (which he has stuff piled up on, so I am not sure what the issue is).

3. I applied for a scholarship to go to a conference. They said they would hold my deposit and return it if I did not qualify for a scholarship. They charged my VISA the full amount! I am going to have to pay this bill before the refund comes through!

those are certainly some huge stressors. I would make the boyfriend clean the basement since it is mostly his stuff getting damaged and contact the conference to get an explanation as to why they charged your visa. I hoped you feel better having vented. take care.

Thank you!

I contacted the conference, but the refund isn't going to go through until my next billing cycle. I am trying to decide now if I even want to go at all -- even with the scholarship, it may be more money than I want to spend.

My boyfriend did help go through stuff when he got home. I had dragged as much as I could outside into the backyard. He helped bring more out and we are both throwing out a bunch of stuff.

It is kind of interesting to see how much stuff we both think is the other person's. There's an AC unit down there that he thought was mine and I think is his, etc.

I am having another bad day.

1. I heard back from the conference people. I was not awarded a scholarship. They are giving me a full refund, but I'm sort of insulted anyway.
2. It rained on all the stuff I dragged outside yesterday. We had moved most of what we still wanted, but not all of it.
3. There's some sort of new rule in place this year and I can no longer reserve a campsite at the last minute. I have done this for years and suddenly can't. This screws up my weekend plans.
