To love someone unconditionally like family even when they are not? And it doesn't matter what they do or how bad they behave, you still love them? I dont mean it from a couples sense either, just generally.

Of course it's possible. Some people not related to you can feel like family. In fact, some might be better than actual relatives.

I guess when you bond like family that is it and no matter how many times they hurt you, the feelings remain. I feel more sane now knowing this.

Of course. My best, and oldest friend; she is family to me. It should be said that if someone says something stupid or does something stupid in this relationship it is mostly me, but I feel like this about her. I get all defensive if someone says something negative about her and I feel like I can share anything with her. It is probably a mean thing to say, but we just have more in common and we were there for each other during rough patches (such as my grandparents dying or her parents divorcing) when we were kids, so a part of me loves her more than certain actual family members.

Friends are the family you choose. The family you have something in common with.
Thanks for this!
