I have been dealing with people especially family who do not answer emails or aknowlege gifts. I find it very difficult to deal with. It hurts me inside like I was foolish or wrong for doing it. It feels like when they don't appreciate they don't really care about me. The truth usually is they are the problem. Bad manners and selfish non caring attitudes that show up everywhere are what they are demonstrating. I just feel like stop , don't do it anymore, just be as rude and neglecting as they are. They don't care! Why should I ? The trouble is I find that depressing because I have always enjoyed giving and doing. It feels good and creative but then I end up really hurting when they don't seem to care. Hurting right now!

Boy i hear ya. I just got a thank you card from a wedding 4 months ago. I didnt go to the wedding, i just sent the gift from ordering it online, so its nice to know they did actually get it. I never did get a thankyou from a baby shower last year - i think maybe they emailed it, cuz they called asking for my email, but then their call broke my phone so i had to get it reset and then google didnt believe i was me(!), so i had to get a new email! Lesson being, people should not depend on emails for this stuff. It can disappear and you would never know. They dont make movies about lives being changed by missing emails like they did about letters in the olden days.

I just wish it didn't hurt so much. I am such an inner punisher you'd think I was the one who was doing something wrong.
