So I really have a tough time even describing what is going on. It's hard to describe my symptoms. I have trouble doing daily tasks, and I definitely cannot work a regular job.

It's just becoming overwhelming, even though I always get through it anyways. I just would feel better if I could reach out for some support for once on these forums. I do have a dx and I understand that may be the reason I feel the way I feel.

I just am tired of feeling this way like I never have the ability to conquer tasks I used to be able to. I wonder sometimes if abruptly stopping marijuana after I had a psychosis and mental breakdown made me weak. I feel like the marijuana would help me, except part of me gets paranoid even talking or thinking about it. I know one thing, that I missed having to give it up, and I miss the feeling it gave me. Just would need medical grade stuff now at this point.

Current Med Schedule: 1.5mg invega sustenna + .5mg Xanax in the morning, followed by 5mg of Abilify at night time.

Some help or advice would be good. FYI: I have tested getting off my meds before (abilify to be exact) and I could not successfully do it without major problems. So just letting you all know switching that med out would not work, I don't think... But, I think I am open to adding some. Thanks for listening.

Hi, High Etiquette.

I have to keep a todo list or I would never get anything done. I break it down to little bitty steps and make sure I don't schedule too many things in one day. Doing this has really helped me get things done. I used to have trouble even remembering what I needed to do much get it done.

Yeah, I don't know that med a med change would help all that much and if you are doing well on the meds you are taking I wouldn't think you would want to change them. It would be too much of a gamble.

That's called addicted whether mental or physical...it's still addicted & definitely more difficult being off of be because you are feeling that way. That may have some effect on the way you are feeling (lack of motivation). Any abrupt change that is made to the body causes it to have to adapt to the new normal & the body put's it's energy into adapting.....leaving less energy for being motivated to doing the things that we were used to doing before.

It all just takes time to settle out.

Can you be more specific about the problem with the daily tasks? Is it focusing on them or choosing one to start with? Being overwhelmed, not knowing where to start? I am trying to work on that too -- I haven't done much with my day so far and feel like it is too late to get started.

I hope you can stay away from the pot because that's not going to help in terms of getting things done. From what I know and have seen, pot has the opposite effect. I guess it just makes people feel less bad about not getting things done

I sometimes...make that often....feel the same way. Do you at least have some moments when you feel motivated? I do, but unfortunately the resulting progress goes down the toilet when I drift back down into depression. In fact, this makes me feel worse as I feel guilty for having not finished what I got a start on. It also makes me doubt whether I should even act on things when I feel motivated again for, after all, it will all be sideswiped by my depression eventually. But I am digressing into making this about me.

Hi! @both HighEtiquette & Gaylee, I make lists like crazy and recently picked up "if you get just 3 things" done, you should consider it a good day.

@Avlady, that's good, I used to get lots of cleaning done when high, don't do it anymore, and my house is a mess (hmmm)
Couldn't much else though. Some stuff was just overwhelming.
@HighEtiquette, try to get 5 minutes of something you feel is a priority. Don't take on too much.

HighEtiquette, does your state have medical marijuana? Maybe a lower potency strain would be better for you. Idk.
I do often feel overwhelmed and cannot function. It's so debilitating and frustrating. I hope you feel better soon. I came to Psychcentral because I was going through this too

Smoking Pot can help you cope, but will not help you deal with or solve problems. It is your choice..
