As my name would suggest- though it's very often internalized- as I'm naturally a quiet and more introverted person (INFP personality type).
I used to have more difficulty controlling my anxiety in social situations- I've gotten better, but still get frustrated at my naturally introverted/shy nature.
I wish I could be more outgoing, it's a struggle sometimes- I usually just get caught up in my own inner world/thoughts or stories/shows/movies that are fantasy based and days fly by so quickly I feel like my life is passing me by and I'm not accomplishing anything worthwhile that I would like to. I wish I could be that cool detective solving all the cases, or the successful novelist/screenplay writer.

AngstyLady, I hear you say that you are frustrated at who you are naturally. Being introverted is a very helpful quality in a lot of situations. Leaders are made, writers are made, great inventors are made from having this natural origin in the way we do things. See your potential in this world. You have already overcome some of the shyness that you have but shyness is not necessarily part of being an introvert. You are wonderfully made for a purpose in this world. The shyness will come with practice by getting out of your comfort zone. You are already perfect the way you were made.
Thanks for this!
