I don't know if anyone else gets this. It seems to appear and disappear for no particular reason and I wish I could control it.

Oh yeah, and it's annoying, so we got that to add to the mix....

Doing therapy can cause this. Are you in therapy?

No I'm not. I did try therapy, but it wasn't for me.

I get this too. Last year I discovered it was due to my need to release sadness via tears. I have trouble identifying emotions especially if they are subtle. My sadness is present but I cannot identify it until it becomes overwhelming and causes anxiety which then feeds it. I also realized exhaustion contributes.

Yes Sophiesmom
I do too!
I wonder if The Little Didgee is right!
I cried this morning but only for a while because I'm not good at it, and it's lonely and then went into a massive anxiety panic!
Lucky my kind therapist lets me have Xanax because then I went to sleep to avoid it and now I've woken up drowning in sadness!
I don't even have a specific clue why!
I suspect it's because so many things suck that it just becomes a big sea of sadness...all u can do is try to keep swimming until the tide goes back out...

The times I have felt like that are when I was in depression. I'm also taking antidepressants. They are helping me.

Almost every single day I find myself in tears. Sometimes it happens in public and I lie and say I have something in my eye. There is usually a trigger like a song or a sad news story. I try to be careful of what I expose myself to so the sadness doesn't catch me. Ultimately I think my life is just sad right now. I want to change things but it's not really working out. I don't know how other people do it.
