A few years ago a friend and I ended up cutting ties in a fairly dramatic sort of way. We had a podcast and the leader of said podcast had checked out. (bastard)

Well a year or so later I put out the idea to reboot the podcast sunk a few K into recording equipment (some of which i mailed to other members) and did the normal organisation dance needed to get half a dozen stray cats in step.

So, I think there is terminology for this but I can't find it at the moment so I will use my own.

My friend had engaged in what I like to call a "proxy argument" They tend to rely on being done out of direct view, But in indirect view of the target audience. And it depends utterly on the aggressor in this case spoonfeeding to the audience a beginning middle and end with a nice moral to the story. That matches the history they wish to retcon into being.

In this case she told them that There was a leadership dispute between her and I and that she kicked me out...and the podcast promptly died. (BTW the agree'ed leadership stance we had was her and I each got one vote and the crew got to play tiebreaker. Voteing power was weighted on contribution to the podcast...a system I find to work very well)

The discussion between her and I was on audio quality, and understand I am an electronics tech, I worked on things like radar, guided parcel delivery systems, radio communications and the like.
So her opinion that the lady on the cell phone and blue tooth, and the overloaded skype connection was not the reason there was noise in the feed. it was because my 200 dollar microphone and 200 dollar mixer box was too sensitive. And my mic was not involved in recording the skype feed.

But a week of illogic, incredibility and trolling later and the entire crew was relived and ready to believe her just to avoid that wrath aimed at them....and they wonder why the podcast died after that.

ok perspective venting is over on my part.

It seems there was some slight manipulation going on here, not on your part but on the part of the one trolling.
