Just dealing with the monotony of life at the moment and feel like there's so much bad out in the world.

Just feeling overwhelmed by it all at the moment.

Anyone relate? What do you do to get out of the funk?

I can relate to the second half of what you said. Sometimes I need to avoid news and social media for a while. At times I'm just not well enough to deal with the knowledge of all that's going on in the world, at least as it's given to us in the depressing daily deluge by the news media.

Can you get out somewhere in nature and take a walk or sit??

I agree with jo thorne about taking a break from the news.

Hope you can get some peace today.

I was feeling that way yesterday afternoon too. I got very grateful that my own little corner is peaceful, and humbled knowing that if I tried I could change my circumstances. Not that it's easy, but I can try.

These things work for me:

Nature Walks / Stormy Weather / Good Music

Find two or three things that work for you and indulge yourself often!

Thanks for this!

What has overwhelmed me and this is definitely a work in progress.............is to set boundaries and work hard on enforcing them.......trying to save ppl and not focus on me is what lead to my mental health issues so I have had to painfully cut some toxic ppl out of my life.

I agree with Jo.......how many times do I have to see the news talk about people being abused by cops which is a trigger for some of us with MH issues.......fear of police contact.

Firstly, give up watching the news and reading newspapers. You don't need them. There is a lot of negativity in the world and it is easy to give up on humanity. But that is all we have. Despite the 'knock backs' and disappointments all we can do is put ourselves out there, be nice and , just maybe, we'll get something back.

Hi I find that doing some exercise, even a walk does help to put me in a better mood. I hope it can prove helpful to you also.

Yes, HarperViolet, just wanted to answer your question and let you know that I understand what you are saying.

I sometimes feel this "void".

I hope that for you too, this will pass soon

Hang in there.

Talking to and connecting to people on here help. Even if we are talking about our negative emotions. Bad situations sometimes brings people closer together and that's what we all kind of have. I find beauty in that and it gives me faith.
