I broke up with my bf, so I started back on POF, but then those horrible people who want to make my life miserable, messed my POF profile up so I can't even log in anymore....

I tried calling their support numbers, both of them, but all I got was a recorded message that was confusing as all hell. I sent them an email, but got no response.

I give up on POF...

on dating...

on life...

Quite a leap that, setback on PoF therefore an end to dating and a hopeless life. Other dating sites are available, you could make a new profile perhaps and about those horrible people wanting to mess up your life, who are they? Why are they down on you?

Those horrible people are the same people who sent me gorilla poop in the mail, the same people. The very same. They want to humiliate me and make me cry so hard. I dunno who they are. Just some very sick people with sick minds.

Know any other dating sites that won't cost me an arm and a leg?

Your reply has rather worried me - gorilla turds are had to find and even harder to know if they are genuine, so I wonder where these notions came from. I cannot help but feel you should seek professional help with these disturbing thoughts.

I never used pof , the only sites I used are paid ones. Is yahoo personals free?

Let me explain the situation fully.

Last fall I had a huge falling out with some online friends, which sent me into am emotional and psychological tailspin, the depths of which I had never been to before. One of the "friends" was a guy whom I had developed feelings for and who had first reciprocated those feelings, but later stopped.

I was hurt, and alone and finally wound up going to a psych hospital in my area because for the first time in my life, I felt cold and numb to the point that it scared me. I even paused in front of my medicine cabinet where I keep all my meds and almost opened the door to take all of them at once.

Anyways...I went to the psych ward, got a new prescription, and some very good advice about enriching my home life so I wouldn't be so dependent on the internet for the majority of my social interactions. I even found a therapist, which was part of the whole "recovery plan" they laid out.

So, for the next 4-5 months, I spent a lot of time practicing self care, going to my therapist, and even getting out and dating. I even had a boyfriend. All seemed to be going well, until the 2nd of April, shortly after confirming my new relationship on Facebook. On that day, I received a package in the mail from poopsenders containing a big stinking wad of gorilla dung.

I knew it had to have been from that group of friends who I had a falling out with. They were mocking my newfound relationship. However, I decided to put it out of my mind. Since then, the relationship ran it's course and came to an end. I went back on POF, where I found my ex, and remade my dating profile. Now that same group of online "friends" has gone and blocked me from accessing my POF profile. Changed the Email too so I can't even use it to set a new password.

It's all them, I swear it is. I have no solid proof, but I know it's them.

But unsure how could they block access to dating site? Like change email? How would they be able to do that?

Eharmony costs a lot but is more selective. Nobody can see you unless you agree to communicate with them. Also no scammers. Might be worth trying

I hear you. Dating is a pain in a butt. And so time consuming

You don't have to tell but what happened to the guy you dated? Just didn't work out? Don't give up

I honestly never heard anything good about pof. It is kind of known as a hook up site rather than a respectable place. The reason is primarily that it is free. In general men who are willing to pay for the service are more likely to be higher quality. Of course that's just a general idea, there are exceptions

And if someone can go on it and block other members then it is really not a good place to be

Wow, Artchic. I'm really sorry about that gorilla dung thing. That is, wow, just, wow. Talk about a company built on malice and hatred. I'm sorry that it happened to you. You didn't deserve that and it was a cruel prank to play on anyone.

Can you set up a new profile on POF? I mean, since they changed the email address, can't you set up a new profile with your email address? Can you create a new email address that they don't know and use that to create your new profile? I know it sucks and it's a lot of work to rebuild your profile, but at least then you could get back into chatting with people there.

Considering you just broke up with your bf, maybe you might want to take a little break instead of rebounding so fast? Just a thought.

P.S. I had similar experience with POF and I just made "ANOTHER" profile. As easy as that. Don't give them any power. You have choices.
