I am so sorry that you are struggling with this. I don't know if literally striking your head is a good way to stop the mental chatter. I think you probably need to get distracted! Maybe go for a run or walk or call someone you care about, try drawing or painting or meditation or watching/reading something riveting.

I'm so sorry that they won't be quiet... Please don't hit yourself, it won't help.

Maybe try focusing on something you enjoy... Sing out loud, have a hot shower, take a swim, something that will help to make you calm and happy!
