I actually had some success with using this technique this evening when I started feeling anxious. My anxiety tends to snowball, if I am starting to feel nervous about one thing (tonight I started feeling nervous about my first day at this new assignment tomorrow), then my anxiety spreads and I start worrying about anything and everything. Which is exactly what happened.
I felt it happening and I decided to sit down and do the EFT that I have learned. For those who don't know what it is, it is tapping with your fingertips on certain acupressure points in the body, while making certain statements, centered around the emotion you are trying to manage. I learned about this initially from a good friend of mine, Angelica. The first guided video I've ever used was this one: I liked this guy (I'm a sucker for British accents!) Anyway, I did the EFT on my anxiety and negative feelings and it worked, and then I was able to move on with my evening. (And I had been feeling very sad/nervous, to the point of being tearful). I certainly can't say it would work for everyone, but I am a big fan. It really helps. |

Thanks for sharing that. I have not tried EFT but have used accupressure successfully to mitigate symptoms.
