Hello,

I am new to this website, i came across this while browsing for some to get touched sometimes. I really can't feel anything, every time my friend circle does something, they're happy but i can't feel how i feel. I always think that this should have been different, but when i think of that event some days later i find it to be great. Guess, i can only live in my thoughts, not in real life which led me eventually in feeling void. Also, i never cry for whatever happens which has made me silent through time. I'm really frustrated for what should i do to live. Any help would be appreciated for what should i change.
Hugs from:

Hi silent runner, welcome to Psych Central. Sorry you are having challenges feeling emotions. Having a therapist can help sort out what has happened to make emotions all bottled up and find ways to express them appropriately.

There is also an article on why emotions cannot be expressed.
10 Reasons You Can?t Say How You Feel | Psych Central

For me lifestyle changes fit big in my recovery hopes..

I have to watch what I eat because foods I eat can stabilize my moods or exaggerate them. A high protein low carb diet with snacks or meals every 3-4 hours will over time reduce my swings. I also avoid alcohol and recreational drugs because those can really increase depression.

Other lifestyle changes that help me are doing yoga, exercises, mindfulness, calm music, and being active on Psych Central.

I have read that poem of Robert Frost, one of my favorite poems.
I don't think any of the 10 reasons given fit because i usually don't feel connected with most of the happening things which led me to not caring. I really try, but it get worse like little hallucination or being in another mind, kind of thing. But i'll try changing some things in my daily life, as you suggested, let's see how it goes.
Thank you CANDC for suggestion.

Hello and welcome to Psych Central silent runner!!! It's nice to meet you. You have joined a community of warm and caring members who will want to offer you support and advice. Yours is welcome as well.

Please feel free to contact any community liaison or moderator by left clicking on their name in blue to the left of their post if you need help navigating the forums. It will take some time for your first five posts to appear as they are being evaluated and then you will be able to join chats.

I'm sorry for your struggles. My mental issue has greatly diminished my ability to feel or enjoy anything. Medication and therapy helped me significantly but it did take time to get there. I hope you will follow through with a therapist as already suggested. Perhaps get some guidance from there. In the meantime you are very much welcome here and I'm sure you'll connect with others having similar issues. You'll find we have a safe and supportive community. I'm glad you've joined us.

I look forward to seeing you around!!!
