I'm going to assume this is emotional.

My dad brought a new toilet seat for our hall bathroom. For some odd reason I don't like it and every time I go into that bathroom, I feel the urge to destroy it. I've tried to rip it off the hinges, bite at it, jump on it, and slam it.

This is the first time I've wanted to destroy a certain object. I've had broken or thrown objects before in fits of rage, but those were just I was generally upset and just grabbing random objects to throw. And this one has a very little chance to change except just having me suck it up and deal with it. Since, no one going to replace the toilet seat just because I don't like it. (Unless I destroy it but that's the worst case scenario since then it would cause problems with my parents.)

It is emotional. You probably have unresolved anger issues with your parents (father). You are just taking them out on the toilet seat.
