I feel really bad because I've posted stuff on here before about having issues with my mom. I don't want people to think badly of her; she was a fantastic mom, and I love her very much.
Unfortunately, she passed away in August of 2015, and that's the main reason I never came back to this site - until today, anyway.
This is actually one of the only times I've brought this up. My counselor says she's surprised how easily I can talk about all of this without crying. Truth is, it's not easy at all - I just don't like crying in front of people.
This is the reason I've started counseling. My counselor said that I show signs of mild depression, but she's thinking it's just because I'm grieving. I certainly do trust her, it's just - for lack of a better word - awkward to talk about all of this with a stranger.

I just hope that this counseling helps me...

Sorry for your loss. I think it is natural to talk about our parents, and how they might have caused us somethings undesirable in our upbringing or some conflicts later on. It doesn't mean they are bad or we are bad, it means we are humans, and view things differently. After all, we all have our weaknesses, and our parents are no exception.
Thanks for this!
