Um, hello..

I'm currently at an age where most people would.. Sort of.. Go through some self-discovery thing-y? I'm not actually sure, and to be honest.. I don't think someone can go a day without discovering something about oneself. Anyway.. (Gosh I'm going to regret this..!)

Yeah, My emotions have been all over the place. I've been diagnosed with a mental disorder I don't even think I have. I'm in a real mess.. I know I can't get any serious advice from this one thread but, I'll take the slightest thing I can get- gratefully! Thank you for reading this, sorry for wasting your time..
Hugs from:

You bring up an great topic and I am glad you posted it!

Health professionals like to organize the problems you experience around some diagnosis so they can address it. Doctors can make mistakes and misdiagnose. For example, I was told by one professional that I have social anxiety disorder. My current therapist doesn't necessarily agree with the diagnosis. Of course, I am not sure who to believe. KaiGray, if you think the diagnosis is incorrect, you might try to get another opinion.

You could also be feeling a little shocked or denial about the mental disorder diagnosis. I have felt this too. I don't want to believe there is anything wrong with me.

I hope this helps some.

Hello and you are not wasting anyone's time. Hang in there and you are not alone. Just go through the threads, read what others say. Often we can relate to others and can reply. That is how it works and it is wonderful. Welcome to PC Forums and blessings, tc

Hey,I'm so glad someone brought up doctors and different diagnoses! I started seeing counselors/therapists at the age of 12 up until I was 40. And was on so much medication I should be in a coma. Its been 6 yrs now and I've not had one pill. I REALLY think I need to get back into therapy as I'm having some BPD issues I think but my point is to YES, be very careful! Especially concerning medication. I will NEVER EVER again see a county mental health professional! Nothing against the good ones but I'm just saying. My problem was that I just believed my doctor because she was a doctor and so took what she prescribed me.... NOT a good idea and easy to get into.
What really angers me is that I probably never needed the first pill!!! That of course is on my wonderful/deceased mom so what can I do right?
