I love to sing, write songs, etc. I am often told how beautiful my voice is. Well I have auditioned for The Voice and chocked in the pre-audition. So I promised myself that whenever they return to my home town I would give it another shot, because if you have a dream you should foster it in any way you are able (is my thinking). Well it's been several years now. Guess whose coming to town. Despite trying not to care too much, I still care.
Stage freight is a huge issue for me, have spent years trying to work against my own feelings. Acapella singing soooo hard to do when your nerves are rattling. I've taken numerous classes hoping to overcome this issue. Even in the class they were very impressed my talent. I know I have a gift, my problem is my own inhibitions make it hard to share that gift. I've sung for sporting events at the U, but that's not Acapella. Truthfully I'm at an age I've kind of given up on the whole idea, yet every so often, it creeps right back in. I'm reminded Bon Jovi, kept on trying and was about to quit before he finally was signed. Garth Brooks, went to audition one last time, and was discovered. It can happen, it does happen. But I need to either get drunk at the crack of dawn, (not happening), or figure out how to overcome stage freight.

Stage fright can be hard to overcome, but I'm sure if you put your mind to it you can do it.
