When someone makes a comment that hurts, I know it's not "normal" to feel as devastated as I feel.
My question is, is this an emotional problem or something else? (I am sorry to keep bothering people) |

Are you saying that criticism or comments that could be interpreted that way, hurt intensely? You just apologized for "bothering people" and implied this is chronic, since you also said "keep bothering people".
I'm wondering if you have low self-esteem (edit: I see now you made a post about that) and/or experienced a history of being criticized harshly in the past, having your feelings not taken seriously by others, or being frequently argued with? That could potentially make someone take negative comments at face value, or "tense up" expecting more of the same. |

You're not bothering anyone on here. That's what PC is for. Please keep posting, I like reading what you write. Yes, what you describe is a sign of over sensitiveness and low self esteem, but that can be worked on and changed with a good T. Hugs!

Some can make bad comments that do hurt. Go with your feelings.

Well it depends what comment. Racist in nature for example? Or done by your family rather than a stranger?
I mean it depends. I have pretty thick skin as I teach high school and i wouldn't survive if I was a gentle flower, teens would eat me alive but if it's my daughter or my husband or my mom says something hurtful id be totally devastated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
