Knowing that my mother is badly cracked breaks my heart because before she lost her mind she was a very loving and kind mother. I can't help but feel broken for what mental illness has done to my mother. I saw my baby photo on her phone screen and my heart just broke in two before she was mentally ill she loved me. She wasn't saying these hurtful things to me she supported me and lifted me up. Now I'm watching her slowly lose her mind and it breaks my heart and there's nothing I can do about it. Mental illnesses is a monster for killing my mother :'(

I am so sorry. It's just terrible to watch a loved one deteriorate. My heart goes out to you.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this.

I would just keep loving her, making sure that she is getting all the help she needs and just sticking with her through thick and thin
- like you said, she loved you and probably still does. So no matter how bad it gets: you can remember that because there are some people out there that don't have the luxury of knowing/having that.

Your best is all you can do.
Thanks for this!

I know the pain of watching a loved one's mental health deteriorate. I'm going through something similar with my own mom. She is not the mom that I grew up with. I don't think I'll ever have her back.

I'm so very sorry.

You need to look after your own needs though throughout all of this. By the way, have you considered finding a support group for persons such as yourself? My own family benefited a great deal from an info session and support group for family of those with mental illness.

I have no idea to be honest. They've never helped my mother

I'm sorry for the pain you are going through with losing your mother this way. Same thing happened to me in my life a long time ago. It really sucks.
