I don't know if anyone means being alone as I mean it. I read several posts where some people said they are alone, but then they said they have a boyfriend/girlfriend, they have just one friend, or they have just family. For me being alone means being absolutely alone. Living alone. No friends. No family. I have a diagnostic procedure coming soon, and I'm thinking to cancel it because I don't know anyone to come with me, and it's necessary to have a company!! I know I put myself in this situation, but I wonder if it could've been different with all my experiences and tendencies!!

Hi,
I'm in the same boat! There is nothing wrong with being alone if you choose to be alone.
Regarding the diagnostic procedure, it is sometimes preferable to have a friend or relativebutnot compulsory.
Your problem stems from depression more than from loneliness. Perhaps you also have a degree of aspergers syndrome. I had itall my life but only realised it late inlife. The realisation really helped me. It solved a puzzle I always had of my own personality.

Depression hit me later in my life, and I think it's the opposite. Loneliness caused me the depression, but now depression is causing more loneliness. I do believe I have ASD and SD (and ADD). For the diagnostic procedure, actually they told me if no one comes with me they won't do it. They didn't say it's preferred. In the letter I received they wrote this note in capital letters to emphasize it, and the person I called when I took the appointment emphasized on this as well. I think it depends on the hospital, but this one seems to have this policy. I will try to discuss this with them if they would accept doing it for me without a company, because I must do it.

I doubt sincerely that you are the only person they have encountered with this problem. I live in a big city so there are services who will send people to accompany me for a fee. If you don't have a service like that where you live, maybe they have some other kind of arrangements.

I don't pay to therapists to listen to and help me, and I won't pay to someone to accompany me. I'd rather to die. My pride and dignity are all I have. I will try to convince the hospital to do it without a company, otherwise I'll cancel it.

Just go and have it done. They will keep you over night until the anisthetic wears off, if it is being done at the hospital. Just ask your doctor, he will arrange it. That worked for me.

I hope that will work. I'm having sedative, and overnight isn't necessary I think. I will ask to stay at the hospital for few hours.
