Tomorrow, January 9th, marks 6 years since my hospitalization. I'm an emotional wreck, got sent home early because I only completed 2 rooms, and I feel like crying, but I have my sanity and my mind intact. I feel so overwhelmed, this year is far worse than the others, but I have made so many leaps and bounds and my parents think I am doing great overall. I am super emotional during this time.

Thanks for this!

My mom coined the term "Survivor's Day" and shared Not Afraid by Eminem on my facebook wall. She told me to do something special to treat myself today.

That was a wonderful thing for your mom to do - I can understand it's emotional for you to recall, but yes you survived and it sounds like you have thrived.

I love the way your mom handled about the day. Im sure her sensitivity has helped you achieve these 6 years successfully. Having good support makes ALL the difference.

Its best when anniversary dates hit to look at the positive that has come since that time rather than focusing back on how bad it was. The achievement is great. There in lies the celebration.

Hmmmm I had so many "surviver days" i lost track of all of them. It was like living in a black hole for 13 years with no sense of time or much memory of the happenings. You are blessed to have the memory.
