I feel myself in this life as someone thirsty in the desert, who keeps running after a mirage to quench his thirst. He never catches it. It's always in a distance with him. If he tries to approach it, it runs farther way. Yet, he keeps hoping one day he will catch it and drink from it. So, he keeps trying. Maybe this is his destiny and all he can obtain. An illusion and life full of pain.

Maybe the real fun and experience is in the chasing.

It's a good analogy. I chase it too.

My sig on here used to read 'Prefabsprout is chasing butterflies' - just like cat in my avatar. It meant I felt like I was trying to catch something elusive - answers I suppose, a solution maybe.
Now it just reads I'm confused. I've accepted some things will always be elusive. I don't feel sad, I just feel acceptance, it's a calm feeling. Your image is very evocative, I'm not sure if it's realistic to wish your thirst quenched, but I do wish you acceptance of things you can't change. ![]() |
