So when i Just entered high school, i used to be able to sovle most stuff without studying. and well thats no longer the case, its true that stuff is supposed to get harder, but thats not what i mean. its like i lost my ability to think critically and logically. I still understand what is going on and im even getting better grades these days, but thats because i started to study harder.

I also used to have pretty strong opinions, but now I cant even form opinions, or at least not like i used to be able to. I also feel like my vocabulary simplified, im not a native english speaker so i cant give examples of that sadly. but i was able to use diffucult words quite easilly and now im struggeling to even think of them.

now ofcourse im a teenager, and teenage brains change, but im afraid these are the concequenses of me smoking weed, see i used to smoke some weed so now and then, not much, like maybe once a month. It was all fine and fun, but then i just started to have bad trips everytime I would smoke weed, like i would get really parenoid, and i thought my friends were not my real friends, and just kinda accepted me being with them, it made me really insecure i guess. but anyway im scared that it also affected my intellect.

I've also become more of a loner since then, like i still have those same friends and feel better about them now, but its like i lost my sence of humor and spirit, im always quiet, not having much contact, while i used to be loud and funny. Now i get that this might all be my brain having its transformation into adulthood, but still im worried.

i quit smoking about half a year ago, and well i just want to know if it could return to normal, that is ofcourse if it has to do with weed. i dont think i have major issues, but i really used to value being like the smart guy, it was how i saw myself, so if feel like it would be rather difficult to accept losing that.

Hello MeneerGeart: I cannot comment with regard to your concern. However I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

Perhaps I missed it above but do you take medication? It is not uncommon if so that one will feel 'dumbed down'.

I myself notice tasks I was once very apt to do well - problem solving for example - a great deal difficult.

Doing math operations and completing puzzles (sudoku and crosswords) seems to have improved this. I even download elementary level arithmatic drills in order to keep my mind sharper and quick. Still, the medication has taken its toll - but these actions seems to help.

Weed does lower IQ and causes what you told here. Stay off weed, and see a doctor about it, if you can.
