What if I just started to lie to everyone and if people ask how I am doing say Great!
![]() ![]() Because, you know, that's really all people want to hear. I have a counselor call me every Monday and today I am just going to lie when she calls and asks how I am. I am going to say Great! ![]() Will it strike her as weird that someone who has been suicidally depressed for 3 to 6 months is suddenly great??? I will tell you what I think. ![]() If she was good at her job I would think she might ask how someone could feel chronically suicidal and then in a week feel great for no damn good reason... ![]() But I get my week's grocery money that she will not question the validity of my mood. In fact I think I am just going to start telling everyone I am great. This is really what people want to hear. They don't give a fig about truth. ![]()

It is for me anyway, to just say everythings ok out of habit but most of the times I say it without meaning it. I wish sometimes I had the courage to say i'm a bit low right now,i've tried it several times before but the response is usually that they could care less.Sometimes although someone who really cared would say why? that's on a good day!!

Just as I predicted...I said I was great, great, great. It seems the counselor doesn't think it is unusual for someone to be suicidally depressed one week and great the next. I am not bipolar. I am just saying that if you say you are great other people are relieved...and it is like you are taking care of their mood on top of your own. So, like, great!
