no reason to be sad, but am. have been for a long time. have a good therapist and psychiatrist, take meds, sleep well, fairly good health except for some autoimmune diseases that are said to account for extreme tiredness, have a loving husband. have to force myself to do anything other than routine chores,which are habits i have managed to establish, which is good, but nothing helps the sadness.

I'm sorry you're having a tough time. Maybe it's time for the pdoc to increase or change your meds. You're not alone.

It's probably "just" depression then as others have said. It really sucks when it happens with no real trigger. How long has this been going on? It used to happen to me a lot. Now, not as much, but still often enough.
The only advices I can offer are: Rose essential oil Distractions Relaxation techniques Using one or a combination of those usually helps me.
