I feel like there's an issue with me not laughing enough. I can cry my eyes out with laughter when I find something in a video funny but not when people show me a video perhaps of an animal is messing about. My workmate has told me she's never seen me laugh. Whenever she laughs, I try my best to laugh but what she says isn't funny. I get paranoid that she notices that I don't laugh. Maybe oh it's funny in a quiet way. When someone shows me a video of something, I can't really seem to laugh. I feel numb. It's the same with trying to show my appreciation, I can't seem to show it well enough. I just feel numb. At one point, I was worried that I was losing my emotions. My mum has told me I sound cold. Is this normal or is there something wrong with me?

Do you take any psychiatric meds? Some of them can numb your emotions.

My own sense of humor differs greatly from that of many people, and my wife would say I seldom laugh. As to videos, I do not find it funny when people have "fails" even though I *can* laugh when all of us are laughing at ourselves together.

Your reply do help me knowing that I'm not alone in this. I'm the same when I reply to threads, I feel like my advice is useless.

Maybe your reactions are your “normal” and that’s ok. Everybody is different. You do you.

This is definitely ok. What someone finds funny is not funny to someone else. It's also ok to cry a lot and not laugh.

The opposite is ok, too. I laugh at everything, but I can go years without crying.

As for you feeling numb, I feel that too. I find nothing sad, not even death. We're both cold, but we express ourselves differently.
