leaving hospital and my mobile phone rang:
me: yes? them: how are you? me: oh not bad, I'm coming home them: it's probably not a good time to tell you this, but your cat died (long pause) me: um, I see then I hung up realising I didn't have a cat, I rushed back to the hospital to swap phones (I had the wrong patients phone with me!) now their mother thought they were coming home but actually they weren't. ooops |

When I was at first school, and maybe also into middle school, I had a wild imagination and would make up the most ridiculous stories. The worst past is I actually expected people to believe them!
I told my parents and brother fake made up things that happened at school and playgroup mostly. I told the teachers fake made up things that happened outside of school. Of course most of it they didn't believe and obviously my mam and the teachers talked to each other and found out that other things were lies. I have no idea why I did this. Only thing I can think of is that I needed an outlet for my wild imagination and this was all I could think of at the time? But I did draw a lot back then so why didn't I just use that as an outlet for these stories? |

a few weeks ago, I saw a baby girl with her mother.
the mother had tried everything to calm down the little one, but she was howling I approached and simply made a face like a princess, and she just beamed she loved it, and the mother was stunned I managed to calm her just like that |

In my mid teens I made this little "doll" (dont know if it could be still called a doll when it was a man) from fabric in the art room at school and stuffed with cotton wool. I made it at home though, because I was embarrassed. I used to take it to school sometimes but then I was worried I would lose it, so I stopped. I don't know what happened to that.

When I was younger I used to say really stupid things I thought were clever, then people would tell me off for being stupid and tell me "you're not clever". Now I just keep my mouth shut because whatever I say will be wrong. Others will look at me strangely and tell me I'm stupid or "not clever", though I don't try to be clever now. But it's just pointless bothering to say anything. It's easier to stay quiet and ignore people.
One time when I was about 12 I was in a shop with my mum, gran and uncle. My uncle made a joke I thought was hilarious but my mum and gran hadn't heard so I kept repeating it to them. They totally ignored me as usual, and eventually I gave up, got annoyed and embarrassed at the same time. So if nobody says anything, they will at least ignore me. Which is embarrassing. |

I used to know a woman, really smelly woman actually- well I don't think it was her, I think it was the clothes she wore, which then made it her when she took them off
one day she turned to me and she said listen, can I ask you something? I'm like sure- what is it? and she goes to me.. why do you think I'm so unpopular? I just gave her a hug and said listen... I can't speak for everyone, but I like you how you are and everyone thinks it was so sweet me telling her that |

when I was really small (even before my MI started), a group of us went rafting on the river.
well I didn't keep still and I fell off the raft in to the river. not only was i covered in riverwater (clothes, shoes, the works), but then we had a picnic on the shore- and I had to strip naked in front of all the people on the shore because my clothes were soaked and they needed to dry so I ate my picnic with nothing on. seriously embarrassing! |

I was so excited. really really excited to play it and create my own hospital until... I found out they'd pranked me and got me a version of the game with set up instructions in every language but english!. wow was I fuming!. I did more than say cuss words (yes I could cuss at that age, I learned really young) |

I've met people recently who treat me like my opinion of them is vitally important. When I don't respond to them in they way they wish, then they try really hard to get a reaction out of me. I am making a point to notice their good points. One of these people was treated very badly by her family, and I wonder if I remind her of her father- and perhaps that is the reason way she acts the way she does around me.
I'm ambivalent about how to act. Sometimes I feel like making an issue of it, but I remain silent because I'm not sure what to say and I don't want to make things worse for her. __________________ My business is to teach my aspirations to conform themselves to fact, not to try and make facts harmonise with my aspirations. When I was a kid and something bad happened I would draw a pic of myself and then another pic of "everyone else" who I assumed was fine. It seemed to make sense at the time.
Also I used to write all my toys names in a lined book and do a register like at school. But I soon realised they were all always there so I had to start leaving one somewhere else and pretend they were sick so I could mark them as absent on the register. |
