I am starting to feel numb again from all of the emotional pain I have. I want to get close to someone but I keep getting hurt emotionally. Now I want to feel numb. Is this normal?

I didn't know if it was normal reaction. I am try to be gentle to myself. I keep telling myself that it will get better. It has to get bad before it get better.
