Hi sinking,

Sorry to hear you are feeling overwhelmed. Can you identify what you are feeling overwhelmed with? Is it something that can be addressed? Sometimes it helps to just talk about what is overwhelming us, or write it down.
Thanks for this!

I am not sure what your job is, but would you be able to book some time off, and use your vacation time to supplement the income if it is not paid vacation? It sounds like you need a break!
Thanks for this!

I took a week off 3 weeks ago... i dont like to admit it but simply put, this job is too much for me.

I cant wait for the day i decide enough is enough... im not made for this life, really. I really really mean it.

Is a change in career possible? I learned over the years that working in the food industry was not for me. Now I work in retail and it is much more relaxing. There is no shame in changing to a job that does not overwhelm you.

If you are abusing the medication and not taking it when you are supposed to, or taking too much, I would highly encourage you to talk to your pdoc about it. You can decide together if it would be best to wean off, or try giving you small amounts of the medication at a time.

I personally had to wean myself off ativan because I was dependent on it, and it was causing me to feel depressed. I have learned other methods to cope with the anxiety, a big one being simply educating myself on where anxiety comes from, why it shows up, and how it isn't the emergency that our brain tries to make us believe. Sometimes just knowing the origin of anxiety can be a huge help. I also find deep breathing, meditation and exercise to be helpful at calming anxiety. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions or need to vent.

Just like scaredandconfused, I eventually noticed that to many antianxiety meds make me more depressed. So does drinking too much alcohol too often. Crummy jobs make us all depressed. You have to learn to not care as much (easier said than done). Focus on what must be done and resist the temptation to go above and beyond the minimum. Learn coping skills or at least find something that brings you joy outside of work. A tall order. Sorry it all has you so down...
