I've never really sat down to think about it too much, but at work, somedays I feel like I'm fighting the urge to cry and that's when I'm most surrounded by people but when I'm by myself I'm normal. It's funny, but I've been trying various ways of getting some of the more negative emotions out by typing it out in a document in the hopes that I would cry since I remember being a little boy and crying always felt better even if kid's problems (hopefully for the kid) are just really petty things. And all of the times a friend or family member says, "Don't cry" and you cry anyways.

It's really making me feel the gravity of how lonely I am, I'm really scared of opening up for the worry of being blown off and yet I can't really cry my feelings away by myself. It's really frustrating.

"I cry if I want to". But you've got an interesting point.

Must be great to be able to cry when you want to, but I say this knowing that just crying doesn't actually solve the problem but it at least feels better afterwards.
Thanks for this!

I think crying is an healthy thing. I imagine the problem would come if someone saw you crying and asked you what's wrong. Would you be able to respond?
Thanks for this!

Right now, I wouldn't be able to. I often deflect to a "safe" problem when I am asked about my problems.

I can cry so easily watching a movie, yet it would be v rare for me to cry over personal issues. Nothing ever feels as bad as it seems I guess. Things can bring me to tears, special moments, reflecting, but people or their opinions not so much.

Speaking of movies, I don't really cry from movies. If it's really sad, I just get kinda blue for a while. I remember watching When the Wind Blows and going back to school not really crying but just blue. Then I explain the movie and everyone is like, "Wow".

It's still pretty hard to cry, like it has been for years, but I almost cried a few times in the last week. But it was just a few tears, I'm starting to think that I'm just not much of a crier (is that even a word?) which is so weird because I was often called a crybaby as a kid. On the other hand, working with others or even by myself and making progress with something makes me feel pretty good when I'm upset or just blue about something. I think I'm going to follow that.
